This unit was built using 3mm Red LEDs as an experiment instead of the usual white surface mounted LEDs. It turns out they are not as bright. (not bright enough). Also, we experimented with female pins under the 16 segments and they don't make solid reliable contact. Finally, there is an issue with the daughter card as none of the buttons want to work. 
 
So to make it work, you need to troubleshoot the buttons issue, possibly remove the female pins under the 16 segments and possibly change the lampfield LEDs.
 
It demands some work, but will provide the buyer with a big discount and a nice piece.
It is ready to ship immediately.
